A Day in the Life of Ruca, a Caribbean Sailing Pup

Being a liveaboard sailing dog is "ruff" work, but somebody's gotta do it!

Here's a peek inside the daily life of our Ruca girl, a 5 year old boxer dog who lives aboard our 38 foot sailboat, currently sailing around the Caribbean!

We adopted Ruca 5 years ago, after she was abandoned in a ditch in rural Missouri for having Rickett's disease. A rescue organization nursed her back to health, and finally matched her with her forever family, me and my husband Ben. Now, she lives with us as we sail full time around the tropics! She's visited five countries in the last year, and is the designated coconut hunter and turtle spotter on board. She's goofy, slobbery and full of love! We couldn't imagine life without her!
