WHO ARE WE?
We are Quinn and Ben, and we want to welcome you to our page!
Let us introduce ourselves and tell you a little about where our journey begins.
We're a typical midwestern couple from Missouri, with a furbaby boxer pup, Ruca. We met in college, fell in love, were married in 2012, and moved to Kansas City where each of us worked for a large corporation. We had success in our corporate jobs, where Quinn was an IT Consultant and Ben was an Internal Auditor. But we were feeling some serious wanderlust. So, we decided to put our careers on hold, sell our house, cars, and all our belongings, and leave Missouri. With no sailing experience, we bought a boat and set off to travel the Caribbean on a two-year, epic sailing adventure.
During this timeout from reality, we grew in our marriage, met new and different people, had countless once-in-a-lifetime experiences, learned about new cultures, concepts and skills, and explored the world. However most of all, we reset the expectations for our lives, to put value on each and every day.
If we’re completely honest with ourselves and with you, we’ll admit that that this plan was scary. We did, and still do recognize there are risks with leaving it all to sail away. And although the unknown is scary, this adventure will never be one we regret. We can say 1000% that sailing away was the best decision of our lives.
We hope you’ll follow our journey south through the tropics, back to land life, and beyond!
